The Kruger Park is a very beautiful place for both tourists and locals. There is so much to see and experience that it is almost impossible to see everything in a single day. Luckily the Kruger National Park has a lot of different camps scattered throughout but it can be a bit intimidating when it comes to choosing one to stay overnight. Luckily, we can help and give you the 5 best camps in the Park:

Satara

Satara is a beautiful and rustic camp that is located smack in the middle of Lion territory. Satara is definitely one of the best camps for an overnight stay. The camp is perfect for people who want to end the day in peace and quiet as Satara is not nearly as busy as the main camp, Skukuza. The accommodation at Satara ranges from camping and caravanning to bungalows and guest lodges. There is a little something to suit everyone.

Olifants

Olifants is seen as one of the Kruger National Park’s very best camps because of its location in the Park. There are stunning views all around, plentiful high-up looking points for spotting animals, and is located along the banks of the Olifants river, which s a hotspot for animal viewing. The accommodation at Olifants includes bungalows and guest lodges. There is a restaurant, a cafeteria and a shop for added convenience.

Skukuza

Skukuza is by far the Kruger National Park’s best rest camp. It is the main rest camp and is also the Headquarters of all operations in the Kruger Park. Because Skukuza is the main camp, all of the facilities and more is provided to both day visitors and overnighters. Some of the extra facilities include a movie theatre, library, restaurants and some more that you can discover. The accommodation includes everything from camping and caravanning to air-conditioned bungalows and luxury guest lodges.

Bateleur

Bateleur is one of the Kruger National Park’s oldest camps and is also one of the smallest. The small size also means that there isn’t a restaurant or a shop in the camp. This wont be a go to stop for day visitors but id provides the necessary facilities for those who are staying the night like a mini shop. The accommodation at Bateleur is very nice as there are only comfortable guest lodges with electricity and en-suite bathrooms. Bateleur is a good place to retire your head after an exciting day of animal spotting as it is nice and quiet and not very busy.

Tamboti

Located about 2km from Orpen Rest Camp, the Tamboti rest camp is found on the banks of the rushing Tamboti River. Tamboti is a camping Rest Camp that has a lot of communal appeal. Guest can sit around the Boma campfires and share stories of the day’s adventures with each other. Tamboti is perfect for those that want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city as the camp is surrounded by natural bush, giving you a feeling that you are isolated from the world. Unfortunately, there are no restaurants here but there are 2 ablution blocks and 2 communal kitchens for those staying overnight.
